Hearing Aid and Hearing Evaluations

At Professional Hearing and Speech Center, after a hearing evaluation is completed, the audiologist will determine which hearing aids are appropriate and make recommendations based upon the test results, as well as, other pertinent factors.

Completely-in-the-Canal (CIC)

This style is virtually hidden, deep inside the ear canal. Cosmetically, it is the hearing aid of choice.

In-the-Canal (ITC)

ITC hearing aids fit in the ear canal and are relatively unnoticeable. Today's technology allows this type of hearing aid to meet a broad range of hearing loss needs.

In the Ear (ITE)

This style is custom made to fit comfortably inside the concha of your ear. ITE hearing aids also meet a wide variety of hearing impairments.

Behind the Ear (BTE)

This style places the circuitry and microphone behind the ear. BTE hearing aids frequently are used for more severe hearing impairments or steeply sloping hearing losses where more power is needed and air ventilation is required. An ear mold is required with this hearing aid.

Open Ear Aid (BTE)

This is a tiny digital BTE.  The newest behind the ear hearing aid that targets high frequency hearing loss, has noise reduction features and is natural sounding.

100% Digital Hearing Aid Technology

Since the advances in today's technology, digital amplification is the hearing aid of choice. Digital hearing instruments are computer-programmed for our patient’s individual hearing loss. The microchip technology samples incoming sounds millions of times per second translating sound waves into a digital code. These improved capabilities enable digital hearing aids to enhance speech, cancel feedback (whistling). Advanced digital hearing aids automatically adapt to the world around you and provide clearer, more comfortable sound in addition to helping you hear better in background noise. If your hearing loss changes over time, digital hearing instruments can be adjusted to accommodate those changes.

We repair all brands of hearing aids including analog, programmable and digital hearing aids.
